CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
TINY
TWOS
An assisted Pre-Dance class for 2-3 year olds! Parents & guardians participate with their dancer until they are ready to attend independently.
Tiny TWOs class introduces toddlers and preschoolers to the dance class environment. Classes will focus on music, rhythm, movement, and fun! This class combines elements from both Tiny Toes and Tiny Tumblers classes in a way that is more suitable for the youngest dancers!
TINY
TOES
An unparented Pre-Ballet and Creative Movement class for preschool to kindergarten aged children (3-5 y/o). Students will have fun, work on listening skills, and learn introductory dance technique.
Coordination, flexibility and movement skills developed in this class will help students become more successful in dance and any other activities they choose to take part in as they grow up!
TINY
TUMBLERS
An unparented Pre-Acro dance class for preschool to kindergarten aged children (3-5 y/o). Students will practice their listening skills and work on strength, flexibility and introductory AcroDance technique through games, song, and dance.
Classes follow the Acrobatic Arts AcroDance Preschool Curriculum. Students may move up to the next level upon completion of each Tiny Tumblers session (A, B, C...)
JAZZ
BALLET
ACRO
Jazz dance is a forever evolving dance style that emerged in the United States and has deep roots to African cultures. It rose in popularity throughout the 1900's, and grew with the development of popular music.
Our Jazz classes are fun, fast paced, and focus on building strong foundational dance technique through ADAPT syllabus work. Jazz styles such as Broadway-Jazz, Latin-Jazz, Disco-Jazz, Contemporary-Jazz, Lyrical-Jazz and Commerical-Jazz may be explored. Jazz is Miss. Janyne's favourite class!
Ballet dates back to Europe in the 1400's. It has evolved into one of the most highly technical styles of dance. Concepts learned in Ballet can help dancers to excel in other dance styles. Ballet can also help an athletes performance in other sports.
Our Ballet classes focus on building strong foundations for classical dance technique. Students will work on musicality, alignment, posture, flexibility, strength and turnout.
AcroDance is a fusion of dance technique with Acrobatic elements. Foundational Acrobatic elements include handstands, somersaults, bridges and cartwheels. Classes focus on strength, alignment, and safe progressions. Watch the video below to see what AcroDance classes are like!
Classes follow the Acrobatic Arts Syllabus. Students will work to complete progress cards in class. It is strongly recommended to take Jazz/Ballet classes in addition to Acro class. Students in Acro level 4 and up will be required to take Jazz and/or Ballet classes to continue to progress in AcroDance.
